5/30/11 Memorial Day

Memorial Day original intent was honoring fallen personal from the civil war, members of both the North and South; the ultimate sacrifice of laying down ones life for another and principles on both sides of a country divided. Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on 30 May 1868.

In modern times on this Memorial Day “We the People” are to remember the fallen service personal of our history; those serving America by giving life itself. In 1971 congress politicized Memorial Day by passing the National Holiday Act of 1971 (P.L. 90 - 363) providing Memorial Day is the last Monday in May providing a 3 day weekend.

On this Memorial Day 2011, let us remember original intent, the cost of preserving our great Republic from civil war. In addition let us remember and honor all personal that bled life from the body in preserving of our Republic, Individual Sovereignty, Religious and Civil Liberty; thanking our Great God, and His Son Jesus Christ for the benefits of our Constitutional Representative Republic.
