5/22/11 No Liberty Or Diversity allowed At The Capitol

Discussion Topic: after hearing all the commotion in St. Paul at the Capitol on Friday, May 20, 2011, regarding Pastor Bradlee Dean’s prayer and the following backlash, I have decided to weigh in on the subject.

Fact; not one word of the prayer mentioned Homosexuality, Lesbianism or any other sexual reference. So what are the non traditional sexual oriented groups, their supporters and legislatively elected activists upset about?

Fact; the first amendment provides for liberty of free speech as originally debated, argued and dictated by our founding fathers, and not any subsequent Supreme Court opinions. For the less informed here is the text: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

When government (in this case the Minnesota House) sets out a pamphlet of non-denominational rules on prayer they violate every possible expectation of our founders’ intent, principles and direct words. Pastors are called to preach truth as they understand the principles God has set forth and not man. Pastor Bradlee Dean has every right and obligation to pray as his conviction dictates, nothing less, he did, and went one step further by restraining his Biblical convictions on the subject of Homosexuality, Lesbianism, or any other nontraditional form of intimacy.

Fact; if the Minnesota House truly believes in inclusion of and representing “all Minnesotans” as a requirement for being on the Minnesota House Floor as claimed by  Minnesota House members then I ask where is the inclusion for Pastor Bradlee Dean. Has supporting Homosexuality and Lesbianism become the new witness test for leadership and law making representation in St. Paul? I just reviewed our state Constitution and found no such requirement for a pastor’s prayer or elected Legislator.

Fact; for what ever reason, Pastor Bradlee Dean checked his personal conviction and Biblical understanding on the subject of Homosexual and Lesbianism outside the House Chambers. By deleting Pastor Bradlee Dean’s official participation and prayer from the House Journal the Minnesota House proved the greatest hypocrisy possible by condemning someone’s personal conviction in a speech that failed to mention that conviction.

Perhaps, because every personal position, opinion, or conviction is offensive to someone in Minnesota, all seated House Members who are adulterers, Homosexual or Lesbian, Marxist, Socialists, drunks, single, heterosexually married, a thief, or even a gambler who have a propensity toward such opinion in private life should also be shown the door by the Sergeant of Arms and Capitol Police.
