During
the weekend festivities our group conducted a on site survey of 18-24 year olds
seeking what would prompt them to engage in political activity, register and
vote on Election Day for a specific candidate over traditional GOP/DFL
candidates.
The
results were interesting and challenging to connect the respondent’s
expectations with knowing a specific third party candidate has those qualities.
All the survey respondents knew of Jesse Ventura (not specifically what he did)
having a positive view of Jesse.
Of
the 22 respondents fair and honest won out at 17.9%, with friend’s enthusiasm,
good values, trustworthy, and keeps promises managed a four way tie at 14.3
each, with 24.9% including 5 other categories. Translating this survey into Election
Day supporting voting block is part of a successful non traditional major
political party campaign.
